PART 1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The work is to remove and replace an existing HVAC system and replace with an in-kind replacement for the Angeles National Forest Supervisors Office. See scope of work for more details. PROJECT LOCATION: Angeles National Forest Supervisors Office 701 N Santa Anita Ave, Arcadia, CA 91006 CODES AND STANDARDS: Work performed under this section shall meet the requirements of the most current edition of the National Electrical Code, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Building code for the County of Los Angeles. 1.04 SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of the work is to replace an existing HVAC system with a modern in-kind replacement. The new HVAC system will need to be lifted to the building rooftop pad with the use of a mobile crane or similar lifting equipment. Similarly, the old HVAC equipment will need to be lifted off the building rooftop with a crane for proper disposal. The HVAC system will be comprised of: New Carrier 4-ton 17 SEER 2-Stage AC Condenser Unit, 208/230V (2) New 40-amp fuses New AC Disconnect New filter drier Or any equivalent unit. Contractor shall modify the inlet and outlet transition ducts as required to accommodate the new equipment. Dispose of old equipment and properly dispose of in accordance with EPA requirements. Recover and recycle old refrigerant from existing condenser unit. New ducts shall be insulated properly. Contractor shall flush out existing cooper lines, provide all equipment and supplies, transportation, labor and parts. Perform all electrical connections to Code. Load system with refrigerant per Manufacturer Specifications, start up, test and balance system. 1.05 PREVAILING WAGES: Service Contract Act shall apply to wages on this contract. 1.06 Contract Time: The Installation work shall be completed as soon as possible after the notice to proceed. Contractor shall place the order within 1 week of receiving the notice to proceed and install the unit within 12 days of receiving the unit. 1.07 Project Site Cleanup: Project site cleanup includes the removal and proper disposal of all construction trash, debris and residue off of National Forest Land. All spills of petroleum products including leak spots from parked vehicles shall be removed and properly disposed according to all local, State, and Federal laws and regulations governing such disposal. If needed during the performance of the Work, the Contractor shall be required to furnish dumpsters or other trash receptacles and to empty such containers either as they become full or weekly, whichever is more frequent. The Contractor shall not place materials of any kind into private or Government trash bins or dumpsters. 1.08 SAM REGISTRATION: Registration in SAM (System for Award Management) is required. Only proposals from contractors that are currently registered in SAM will be considered. disclosed magnitude of construction cost is between $25,000 and $100,000. Request for Information (RFI) shall be submitted via email to David Rader (David.Rader@usda.gov) no later than 7 calendar days prior to the closing of this Request For Quotes (RFQ). *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
