The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) on behalf of Michigan Department of Natural Resources - Parks & Recreation Division, is requesting professional architectural and engineering services to perform a design for construction of a federally-compliant, paved, and linear trail design for the portion of the Red Arrow Linear Trail within Warren Dunes State Park, located in Berrien County, MI. The services requested include Phase 300 - Schematic Design, Phase 400 - Preliminary Design, and Phase 500 Final Design/Contract Documents. Warren Dunes State Park, provides 1,952 acres of recreational opportunities along the shore of Lake Michigan. The park is home to 3 miles of shoreline, 6 miles of hiking trails, and 2 campgrounds. It contains an extensive network of forested dunes, large open dunes, and interdunal wetlands. The endpoints of the trail route are the turn-around at the end of Floral Lane (near the organizational campground) and the NW corner of Red Arrow Hwy and Browntown Rd. A preliminary trail route has been identified and attached to this RFP. A topographic survey of the trail route area has been completed and is attached to this RFP. The trail design and plans must meet Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) requirements to qualify for future grant funding opportunities for trail construction.
