Notice is hereby given that the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools/CAHELP will receive sealed bids up to, but no later than, the time fixed above for the CAHELP - Spirit River tenant improvements project, which involves converting an existing suite that is located in the Spirit River complex to accommodate DMCC's Comprehensive Assessment, Research, and Evaluation (CARE) clinic - not for use of student instruction. Bids shall remain open, valid, and subject to acceptance anytime within ninety (90) days after the bid opening date and time unless otherwise stipulated. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of Ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount. In accordance with the provision of Public Contract Code Section 20111; substitution of eligible and equivalent securities under this contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the Bidder. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish 100% Payment and Performance Bonds for the total contract amount. Any questions regarding the bid should be reduced to writing and submitted via email to Maria Aldaco, Procurement Specialist, at Maria.Aldaco@sbcss.net. Contractor and any subcontractor shall pay all workers on the project at least the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") pursuant to Labor Code sections 1770 et seq. Prevailing wage rates are available online This is a public works project as defined in Labor Code section 1720. Each Contractor bidding on this Project and all Subcontractors (of any tier) performing any portion of the work must comply with the Labor Code sections 1725.5 and 1771.1 and must be properly and currently registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") and qualified to perform public works pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 throughout the duration of the Project. The Contractor and all subcontractors shall furnish certified payroll records as required pursuant to Labor Code section 1776 directly to the Labor Commissioner in accordance with Labor Code section 1771.4 on at least a monthly basis (or more frequently if required by the SUPERINTENDENT/CAHELP or the Labor Commissioner) and in a format prescribed by the Labor Commissioner. Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor at the time of the bid pursuant to the Business and Professions Code, and such license shall remain in active and good standing for the duration of the contract. The bidder shall be licensed in one or more of the following: LICENSE CLASSIFICATION: CLASS B - GENERAL BUILDING CONTRACTOR The project should be completed within 90 days of the official start date. The SUPERINTENDENT/CAHELP will meet with the successful Bidder to provide milestones and prioritized work to be completed, which will be agreed to in the project schedule.
