A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Window and Door Replacement at Hampden Pre-K to 8 School #055 The undersigned agree to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, services, and training necessary for the window and door replacement at Hampden Pre-K to 8 School #055 for Baltimore City Public Schools in accordance with the attached specifications, drawings and other related contract documents. Questions Due: April 7, 2025, by 4:00 p.m. All work under this contract shall be completed within twelve (12) months or 365 days The overall goal for certified minority subcontractor participation in this contract is 24% as specified in the solicitation and, which shall include sub-goals of 8% for certified African American-owned businesses and 11% for certified women-owned businesses, if applicable. A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: This window and door project will provide full replacement of all the existing windows and doors in the building. The existing doors, windows and frames are original to the 1979 construction of the school, and are past their useful life. The request is to replace all 1232 square feet of existing windows with new pre-finished aluminum windows/frames and hardware, and all exterior doors with FRP doors, pre-finished aluminum frames and hardware, all in the existing masonry openings. The work shall meet city schools' design standards regarding security, energy efficiency and maximum clarity of the combination thermal and security glazing. The windows at grade level shall be protected by security screening. Interior and exterior walls, including sills and lintels, shall be repaired where damaged near windows, and new window. shades installed at all windows. Replacing the windows will provide a watertight environment for learning as well as increasing the buildings insulation values for thermal comfort. B. Exterior doors should be designed to be connected to a central monitoring system with new door contacts and wiring, an audible local alarm, and speakers with a push to talk feature, to support city schools' security initiative. Note: doors 133 and 133B must have ADA compliant hardware. C. The improved glazing is inhibiting cellular signals inside the building, so a distributed antenna system (das) for the building should also be designed as part of this project, following the district technology standards. D. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. The Baltimore City Public Schools Director of Procurement reserves the right to charge the Contractor $250.00 per calendar day for each day that materials, equipment and/or services are not delivered in accordance with the delivery schedule mutually developed by the Contractor and City Schools. Per day charge shall be invoked at the sole discretion of the Baltimore City Schools Director of Procurement. The sum shall be taken as liquidated damages and not as a penalty.
