As of August 21, 2024 project was awarded to Nordic Construction, LLC, awarded amount is $34,043.24. The Town of Cathlamet, Washington is requesting quotes from qualified persons or firms interested in providing services for renovations of the Library/Community Center located at 115 Columbia Street commencing in Summer 2024. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to select the proposal(s) deemed most advantageous to the Town. Bidders are requested to propose the best and most cost-effective solution, while ensuring a high level of service. The Town is seeking the bid that is in the best interests of the Town, including, but not limited to, the cost and quality of the services. The Town will be the sole and exclusive judge of what is the best bid, all factors considered. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to make further calls for bids, and to avoid minor irregularities. SCOPE OF WORK Exterior Paint The exterior of the building will need to be prepped before painting. The entirety of the building will need to be painted, including but not limited to the trim, gutters, the siding and supports. Handrail Paint The handrail will need to be cleaned (probably grinded), It is a painted metal rail that has rust spots. It will need to be treated with a rust remover and painted with a Rust deterrent paint. Decking The Decking needs to be replaced, and the handrails will need to be painted. The wood for the decking should be treated to ensure longevity in the elements, and then stained. The old materials will need to be disposed of. Windshield The deck is home to a bench where customers like to wait for the library to open, however it is very open to the elements, and sometimes the wind will blow the doors open. This needs to be fixed by installing a windshield to prevent the elements from penetrating the doors.
