Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Concord, California. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and road / highway.

The estimated construction cost for the project is $170,000 The work to be done in general consists of mobilization, traffic control, curb ramp installation, signing, traffic striping and markings, rectangular rapid flashing beacon, traffic signal modification, and all other work as specified in these Special Provisions and shown in the Drawings. The Contractor shall possess at least one of the following valid Contractor's licenses at the time the bids are opened: Class "A," General Engineering Contractor, or; Class "C-10," Electrical Contractor. Further, only a contractor registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to bid on public works contracts in California shall be permitted to submit a bid. Furthermore, only subcontractors registered with the DIR to bid on public works contracts in California shall be permitted to perform work or labor or render service under subcontract to the subject contractor. The Contractor shall have completed within the last five years a minimum of three Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects for one or more public agencies; these projects shall involve work of similar type and complexity, each project at not less than $100,000. There is no pre-bid meeting for this work; however, contractors are strongly encouraged to visit all sites in advance of the bid to familiarize themselves with the nature of the existing conditions. Labor Compliance Requirements (Prevailing Wage, SB854 Etc.). Contractor/Vendor must comply with all labor compliance requirements including but not limited to prevailing wage requirements, SB 854, Labor Code sections 1771.1(a) & 1725.5, Public Works Contractor Registration Program, Electronic Certified Payroll Records to Labor Commissioner, and other requirements described on the direct links provided in the document 'Labor Compliance Requirements (Prevailing Wages, SB 854 Etc.', posted on the City Purchasing's website. The City has ascertained that Federal Wage Rates or State of California prevailing wage rates are applicable for this project. The federal wage rates are listed in the appendices of the special provisions. The Contractor may elect to receive 100% of payments due under the contract from time to time, without retention of any portion of the payment by the City, by depositing securities of equivalent value with the City in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code and with applicable City regulations. Such securities, if deposited by the Contractor, will be valued by the City's Finance Director, whose decision on valuation of the securities will be final. All bids shall be presented under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by Cash, cashier's or certified check or a bidder's bond executed by a corporate Surety insurer. The bidder's guarantee shall be in an amount equal to at least Ten percent (10%) of the amount bid and made payable to the city of concord. City Project No. 2696 - HSIP RRFB CROSSWALK ENHANCEMENTS The scope of work is generally for constructing crosswalk enhancements at the following locations in the City of Concord. 1. Claycord Avenue & Innwood Court 2. Mendocino Drive & Orangewood Court 3. Esperanza Drive & Morreti Drive 4. Alberta Way & Academy Road 5. Washington Boulevard & Kelrose Court 6. Solano Way & Hilltop Road 7. Reva Drive & N 6th Street 8. Bonifacio Street & N 6th Street 9. Sanford Street & Olivera Road Work shall include mobilization, traffic control, demolition/removal, installation of pedestrian push button assembly, audible pedestrian push button, conductors and cables, curb ramp installation, signing, traffic striping and markings, rectangular rapid flashing beacon and such other items or details that are required by the Plans, Standard Specifications, the Special Provisions and as directed by the Engineer.
