Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Norfolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work under this contract consists of pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Princess Anne Road and Llewellyn Avenue, including ADA ramp and crosswalk updates and pedestrian signals. This is a VDOT Locally Administered Project (LAP) that is federally funded through the Highway Safety Improvements Program. There is a 12% DBE goal. Work to be Substantially Completed in: 240 calendar days Liquidated Damages: six hundred dollars ($600.00) per day Performance Bond: one hundred percent (100%) Payment Bond: one hundred percent (100%) A Bid Bond, certified check, or cashier's check made payable to the Treasurer, City of Norfolk, for five percent (5%) of total bid must accompany each bid. Offerors shall upload a copy of the bid guarantee with the Offeror's acknowledgement to mail the original sealed document to the Owner, within two (2) business days. State Contractor registration class and number is required by electronic bidding. The City reserves the right to cancel the bid opening or to reject any or all bids in whole or part, when it is in the best interest of the City. The right to waive informalities and to determine responsiveness of any bid and responsibility of all bidders is reserved to the City. Scope of Work This project shall be constructed according to the Contract Documents and all standards and manuals noted on the title sheet of the Plans. The proposed traffic signal and intersection improvements include replacement of existing mast arm signal assemblies; new and/or replacement of traffic control signage and pavement markings; installation of ADA-compliant sidewalks, crosswalks and pedestrian signal accommodations; and local curb and gutter improvements for the installation of pedestrian and sidewalk improvements. Soil boring reports at the proposed signal pole foundation locations, stormwater memorandum, and utility test hole report are provided in Appendices.
