Site work and renovation of a civil project in Kinistino, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Town of Kinistino is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for the restoration of the existing water tower. The tower has recently been removed from service, but has architectural, historical, and associative significance for the municipality and province. The scope of work shall generally include: o removal of all former coatings from the elevated tank to bare steel; o preparation of bare steel, including sandblasting and grinding, as required; o priming of steel surfaces; o a minimum of 10 mil epoxy coating on all exposed surfaces, colour to match current; o reinstatement of "KINISTINO" lettering on two sides and the addition of the tower construction date ("1960") in 1/2 size lettering; o minimum 3 mil urethane top coat; o removal of existing standpipe from ground level to the tank and the removal of the existing overflow pipe. Each location shall include a welded bird screen comprised of expanded metal; o removal of existing pumphouse building to concrete foundation. Fill all concrete foundation and voids with lean mix concrete. Work is to be completed by November 2024.
