Bonnet Bolts Phase 7. The brief SOW includes but is not limited to the following: Rehabilitation of 507 water main line valves and miscellaneous appurtenances in Severn, Odenton, Annapolis Junction, and Jessup, all located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Appendix F of the Project Manual contains a list of valves and their locations. If fire hydrant valves are located within 10 feet of the valves listed in Appendix F, they shall be added to the list and rehabilitated similarly to the gate valves. Generally, valve rehabilitation involves replacing bonnet bolts and nuts, staffing box bolts and nuts, and wrench nut cap bolts. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond acceptable to the County for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, payable to Anne Arundel County, Maryland; and unless so accompanied, the bid will not be considered. The check or bid bond will be forfeited to the County as liquidated damages in case the contract, performance bond, and labor and materials bonds are not executed within ten (10) days after receiving the contract for execution.
