\The City of Greenville to cut and clear brush and dead trees, as needed, along 6.5 miles of the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail. The resulting clearing shall result in 20-feet clear horizontally and 10-feet clear vertically along the entirety of the 10-foot wide paved path / boardwalk. The Scope of Work for the FRED MEIJER FLAT RIVER TRAIL BRUSH CLEARING PROJECT includes providing all labor and equipment needed to provide a tree and brush-free, open corridor 20-feet wide horizontally, five feet on either side of the Fred Meijer Flat River Trail, from Baldwin Street to the Baldwin Lake Beach and including connector trails as shown in red on the accompanying map. Overhanging limbs into the clear zone shall be cleared up to a height of 10 feet and back to the tree. Fallen trees that are hung up over the trail shall be cut off near the base and removed, even if it extends beyond 5 feet from the Trail. Equipment access to most of the Trail is limited to hand tools and small utility vehicles, such as a "Gator". No equipment heavier than a small "Gator" will be allowed on Boardwalks. All brush, trees, sticks, leaves and other vegetation that is in the clearing area must be cut and completely removed, including raking the area to be completely free from loose material. Removed material can be disposed of in a designated area at the City of Greenville Compost site with address of 1150 Owen Mumaw Industrial Drive at no cost to the Contractor. The Contractor Shall Begin Work Within 10 Days of the Notice to Proceed or as Otherwise Agreed on With the City. The Contractor shall complete the work within 30 days of the Notice to Proceed.
