As of August 6, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. Provide all necessary materials, labor, and equipment to complete the installation of new asphalt shingles on the Academy Building as follows: o Remove existing roofing to bare wood and load it into a roll-off container located on site. The Town of Westbrook will bear the cost of container removal. o Inspect the entire roof deck for rot and/or deterioration. o Replace plywood as necessary using 1/2 ", 4-ply CDX exterior grade plywood. Include cost per sheet, including installation of the Bid Response sheet (Attachment A). o Install new aluminum drip edge to all rake and drip edges. The color shall be white. o Install flashing tape to all plywood seams. o Adhere ice and water barrier membrane to 100% of the exposed roof area. o Install starter shingles to all eave and rake areas. o Supply and install new GAF Timberline HD lifetime architectural shingles, or equal, with stainless steel nails. o Install new neoprene flashing to all plumbing pipes. o Secure low pro ridge vent. o Install hip and ridge shingles to ridges. o Clean and secure the gutters following project completion. o The contractor shall keep the work area neat at the end of each work day and keep it contained throughout the duration of the job. If a particular brand name is specified, it is not the intent to discriminate against any equal product from another manufacturer. The intent is to establish a minimum standard requested for this purchase. The bidder must keep the work area clean at all times. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond payable to the Town for ten (10%) percent of the total amount of the proposal. The Town will return the bond of all except the successful bidder. The bond of the successful bidder will be retained until the execution of the contract, at which time the Town shall return the bid security to the successful bidder. The Town of Westbrook ("the Town") invites qualified bidders to submit proposals for the removal and replacement of the roof at the Academy Building, 30 Norris Avenue, Westbrook, Connecticut. The final award will not be based solely on price but a combination of cost, qualifications, and the determination of the Town of the successful bidder. Should any prospective bidder be in doubt as to the true meaning of any portion of this invitation to bid or find any ambiguity, inconsistency, or omission therein, they shall make a written request for an official interpretation or correction. Such a request must be submitted to the issuing office no less than seven (7) days prior to the final date of the proposal submission. The person making the request shall be held responsible for its prompt delivery. The Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 business days.
