Environmental remediation and renovation of a museum in Libertyville, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 8,021-square-foot, two-story above grade, one-story below grade museum.
Project Description: Exterior rehabilitation to refresh and stabilize the facility in accordance with Illinois Historic Preservation District and the terms of an Illinois DECO grant. Provide fully functioning, fully engineered systems and fully habitable building. a. Work includes lead based paint assessment and remediation, selective demolition; minor concrete repair; historic brick cleaning, historic brick repairs; metal fabrications cleaning and repairs; historic wood repair, rough carpentry including new architectural woodwork replacement; repair and replacement of shale roof shingles/tiles; new air barrier system; new composite siding; new exterior wood trim; new TPO low slope roofing, repair of flashing and sheet metal; new scuppers, receptor boxes, gutters, and down spouts; joint protection; rehabilitation of existing wood doors; limited rehabilitation of existing wood windows; new aluminum basement window; rehabilitation and limited replacement of hardware; replacement exterior louvers and vents; painting; removal and reinstallation of wall mounted signs; rework plumbing drains and downspout receptors; rework vents; alternate for replacement of electric meters and disconnect switches; replacement lightning protection system; and removal of exterior building mounted light fixtures. This project is being funded in part by a grant obtained from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO Grant) which outlines a goal requirement for The Business Enterprise for Minorities, Women, and Persons with Disabilities Act (30 ILCS 575/0.01 et seq.) (BEP Act) and Veteran Owned Businesses. The goals for this project are set at: 16% Minority Owned Business (MBE) 12% Women Owned Business (WBE) Bid Security. Each Bidder's Proposal shall be accompanied by a security deposit of at least 10% of the Bidder's Price Proposal in the form of (1) a cashier’s check or certified check drawn on a solvent bank insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and payable without condition to Owner; or (2) a Bid Bond in the form included in the Bid Package, or a form otherwise approved by Owner, from a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois with a general rating of A and a financial size category of Class III or better in Best’s Insurance Guide. If the required bid security/bond is not submitted with your bid proposal, your bid proposal will be rejected. Performance and Payment Bonds. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond upon award of the Contract, each in the penal sum of the full amount of the Contract Price, on forms provided in the Bid Package from such a surety company meeting the requirements set forth above. Each Bidder's Proposal shall be accompanied by a letter from such a surety company stating that it will execute Bonds on forms provided in the Bid Package upon award of the Contract to Bidder. If the required letter from your surety company is not submitted with your bid proposal, your bid proposal may be rejected.
