Site work for a transportation facility in Sebring, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
Sheltair Aviation has broken ground on a new state-of-the-art narrow-body size hangar at Tampa International Airport. The hangar and office facility are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025. This expansion will bring Sheltair's total hangar count to 11 at TPA. The company said the project "underscores Sheltair's commitment to meeting the growing demands of business aviation storage and aircraft MRO at TPA." "At Sheltair, we constantly strive to enhance our facilities and services to better serve our customers,"Lisa Holland, Sheltair's president and CEO, said in a statement. "This new hangar at TPA represents our ongoing commitment to excellence and our confidence in the growth of Tampa's aviation sector." The project will feature 50,880 square feet of hangar space and 8,344 square feet of office/shop space. The facility will be able to accommodate a variety of aircraft, including Boeing business jets and similar-sized planes. The hangar will also have an advanced tail door for larger aircraft. The office space will have amenities for business aviation customers operating out of TPA. The project will also have an apron area of 50,000 square feet for aircraft maneuvering, staging and refueling. The entire complex is roughly 110,000 square feet. Sheltair was founded in 1963 and is the largest privately owned aviation network in the U.S. It currently operates 16 fixed-base operators and has a portfolio of more than 4.7 million square feet of aviation-related properties. Joe Lopano, CEO of TPA, said Sheltair's vision and planning underscore its commitment to "creating a premier experience at its FBO complex for visitors, businesses and customers." "Tampa International Airport has seen sustained growth in general aviation over the past few years, and our partners at Sheltair have been working hard to keep up with the demand for private aircraft services," Lopano said in a statement. _______________________________ The Sebring Airport Authority (Authority) invite responses to this Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified respondents interested in providing development of on-airport aeronautical services facilities to support general aviation activities at Sebring Regional Airport (Airport or SEF) and position the Airport as an economic development asset for the region. This could include commercial or non-commercial aviation facilities for an aeronautical service provider such as aircraft assembly or manufacturing, aircraft storage, or aircraft maintenance facilities. The purpose of this request is to obtain information about the aeronautical development of approximately 10.7 acres of land within the boundaries of the Airport property. All questions regarding this RFP must be in writing and sent to Jami Olive, Executive Assistant for the Airport, at jolive@sebring-airport.com. Questions will be accepted until August 02, 2024, at 2:00 pm Eastern Time.
