As of January 29, 2025, this project is a joint venture between the Town of Varick and Town of Fayette. An engineer has been selected for the project. Funding is currently being sought for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Town of Fayette is issuing this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the qualifications-based procurement of an engineering firm to assist with engineering tasks associated with the Towns proposed Cayuga Lake Sewer District #2 sewer improvement project and a future extension to the proposed Cayuga Sewer Lake District #2 to benefit the Hamlet of Fayette. Utilizing a qualifications-based process, the Town will select a consulting engineering firm licensed in the State of New York to design, bid, construct and close out the projects as needed. The Town of Fayette (Town) wishes to provide a sanitary collection sewer system along the west side of Cayuga Lake adjacent to State Route 89 and the waterfront properties with connection to the current Seneca Falls collection system for final treatment at the Seneca Falls wastewater treatment facility. Additionally, the Town desires to connect the Hamlet of Fayette to the main Fayette Route 89 sewer system at a later date. The Town is now seeking an engineering firm to design, administer, construct and close out the projects as needed. Financing is anticipated to include Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WIIA) and Water Quality Improvement Program (WQIP) funding at a minimum. The Town may pursue Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Hamlet project. The selected engineering firm will be responsible for complying with all funding agencies requirements. RFQ; accept or reject any or all proposals received in response to this RFQ; extend the deadline for submission of proposals; negotiate or hold discussions with one or more of the respondents; permit the correction of deficient proposals that do not completely conform with this RFQ; waive any conditions or modify any provisions of this RFQ with respect to one or more respondents; reject any or all proposals and cancel this RFQ, in whole or in part, for any reason or no reason, in the Town’s sole discretion.
