Renovation of a municipal facility in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
GOC1960593-CT: An investigative study conducted in March 2018 identified problems related to water leaks, flow issues, and poor water circulation in the pond. Concerns of poor water quality along with leaks in the existing membrane have left the pond unusable. GOC2555563-CT: According to the Building Condition Report (BCP), conducted in 2021, the existing chiller located at 588 Booth St. is at the end of its service life of 30 years and is prone to operational failure. The current chiller utilizes an R-123 refrigerant which has a high Global Warming Potential (GWP) rating, to align with the federal Greening Government Strategy a new R-513a chiller with a lower GWP rating will be installed. Scope area one Reflective Pond Selective removal and retainage of the existing pre-cast concrete pavers and associated pedestals located in the upper and lower pools. Demolition of the separation sheet. Coring of the roof slab to suit new mechanical drains. Selective removal and retainage of the rigid insulation of new work. Installation of new waterproofing around drains. Modifications of the EPDM lead detection system to suit new drain layout. Installation of new separation sheet, to be bonded to rigid insulation with adhesive. Reinstallation of pre-cast concrete pavers and associated pedestals. Upgrading mechanical system in the mechanical room. Installation of new plumbing lines to suit new pool drains. Installation of new LED fixtures in the water cascade area. Modification of the electrical system to suit design. Scope area two Courtyard Cascade Selective removal and retainage of the existing pre-cast concrete pavers and pedestals in the cascade area. Selective demolition of the roofing assembly below the pavers, including gravel, separation sheet, and insulation. Installation of new EPDM leak detection grid. Installation of new waterproof membrane. Installation of new rigid insulation, separation sheet and gravel to suit existing conditions. Re-installation of existing pre-cast concrete pavers.
