Renovation of an educational facility in Cross River, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 208,211-square-foot educational facility.
The scope of the Work of this project is selective demolition of interior construction to allow for renovations to the building interior spaces including the classrooms, auditorium, science rooms, toilet rooms, stepped labs corridors and library, enclosing the existing covered walkway at front entry and providing a new security entrance, reroofing one wing of the school, providing a new monumental skylight, replacing windows, sitework including a new outdoor teaching area, HVAC upgrades, plumbing upgrades, electrical upgrades, A/V upgrades and lighting upgrades to various spaces. Question Deadline Jul 18, 2024 Each bid proposal must be accompanied by a certified check payable to Katonah-Lewisboro Union Free School District or by a Bid Bond for a sum equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid, as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. All bid security, except those of the three low bidders for each prime contract will be returned within four days after proposals are opened. The bid security provided by the three low bidders for each prime contract will be returned after execution of the Contract(s). To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Owner reserves the right to reject bids that contain omissions, exceptions, or modifications, or in their sole discretion to waive such irregularities, or to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid which is in the best interest of the Owner. Alternate #1 (ADD ALTERNATE) STEPPED LAB RENOVATIONS: Scope includes updating two stepped labs with new finishes, lighting, paint, and furniture, and electrical-related work for new furniture. Base Bid includes no work no work in these rooms. The existing construction shall remain as is if the alternate is not taken. 2. Applicable Contracts: a. Contract No. 1 General Construction Work The Work shall be substantially complete on or before the date(s) indicated in the Project Milestone Schedule attached to this Section. It is extremely important that the Owner resume its full use of the buildings and sites on the completion date(s) specified. Liquidated damages will be assessed by the Owner for each day the work continues past the Substantial Completion date The Work shall be conducted in accordance with the logistics drawings LP-1, LP-2, LP3, and LP-4 and the milestone schedules included in the contract documents. Work may be commenced in the building and on the site on the date(s) indicated in the Project Milestone Schedule attached to this Section. Phase 1 : All work in Building B, and part of the work of the entrance/security addition as shown on the logistics plans. Phase 2: All work in Building C, the rest of the work of the entrance/security addition as shown on the logistics plans, and reroofing Building N. Phase 3: All work in the auditorium and stepped classrooms, and all work for HVAC upgrades on rooftops of Buildings A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, L, Q and N. Phase 4: All work for front walk/driveway work and new outdoor classroom work.
