Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Simi Valley, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
As described in the Bidding Documents, the bids are for a public works project, FY 2024-25 Annual Major Streets Rehabilitation Program: Cochran Street (West End to First Street) ("Project"), which consists of: 1) 286,060 S.F. of 2 1/2 " asphalt pavement cold milling; 2) sawcut, removal, and reconstruction of 159 S.F. of sidewalk; 3) sawcut, removal and reconstruction of 1,027 S.F. of cross gutter and spandrel; 4) 109 L.F. of concrete sidewalk grinding; 5) 5 sawcut, remove and reconstruction of curb ramps; 6) sawcut, removal and installation of 1 cast-in-place truncated dome; 7) application of 19,536 S.Y. of crack seal; 8) application of 19,536 S.Y. of type III microsurfacing; 9) placement of 4,600 tons of rubberized asphalt concrete; 10) various traffic signing and pavement delineation; 11) 19 sewer manhole frames, rings and covers replacement; 12) 64 water valve assembly replacement; 13) 6 storm drain manhole lower and adjust to grade; 14) 4 traffic signal video detection installation; and 15) all appurtenant work. The expected completion time of the Project is 40 consecutive working days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This Project requires payment of State prevailing rates of wages for Ventura County. The contractor must post copies of the prevailing schedule at each job site. Copies of these rates of wages are available from the State of California Department of Industrial Relations Prevailing Wage Unit, Telephone No. (415) 703-4774. The website for this agency is currently located at online Note that the Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations. Pursuant to California law, the City must find bids failing to comply with all applicable Labor Code requirements including, without limitation, Labor Code 1725.5 and 1771.4, to be nonresponsive The contractor to whom the contract is awarded must assist in locating, qualifying, hiring and increasing the skills of minority group employees and applicants for employment, as set forth in Executive Order 11246 and 11375. Five percent (5%) will be deducted from each progress payment and retained by the City. The remainder less the amount of all previous payments will be paid to the Contractor. Pursuant to Public Contracts Code ("PCC") 22300, the Contractor may substitute securities for retention monies held by the City or request that the City place such monies into an escrow account. The Contractor is notified, pursuant to PCC 22300, any such election will be at the Contractor own expense and will include costs incurred by the City to accommodate the Contractor's request. The Bid shall be submitted and the work shall be performed by a State of California Class A licensed contractor in strict conformance with Specification No. SV 24-26, and now on file in the City's Department of Public Works and the Office of the City Clerk. Document note : Work on the Project must be performed in strict conformity with Specification No. SV 24- 26 as adopted by the City's City Manager on June 26, 2024, which is filed with the City's Public Works Department. Copies of these plans and specifications may be obtained by prospective bidders from the City Engineer for a non-refundable fee of $30, plus $10.00 mailing fee, if mailed.
