Renovation of a municipal facility in Thompson, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Town of Thompson is the recipient of an award from the US SBA to renovate a historic, townowned structure at 65 Main Street, in the North Grosvenordale neighborhood. The future use of the fully renovated structure will be as a municipally-sponsored small business support and education center. The project is for the preparation and painting of the full exterior siding and trims. The structure has already undergone abatement and significant portions of the siding and millwork have been repaired; but, substantial caulking is required prior to sealing and painting. Bidders must be appropriately licensed and insured in the State of CT. Copies of relevant licenses shall be included with the bid. As a Federal grant funded project, prevailing wages will apply, and documentation of prevailing wages shall be required. The Town will accept the lowest fully responsive bid. Bidders on the DAS Prequalified list and/or MBE/WBE/DBE bidders may receive extra consideration for responsiveness. The recommendation to award will be read at the regular meeting of the Thompson Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, 17 September at 7 p.m. All bidders will be notified of bid results following the reading of the recommendation to award. Payment will be made in three installments: 30% as a deposit, 40% once work has commenced, and 30% upon project completion and final inspection by the local project managers. Direct all inquiries to Tyra Penn-Gesek, Director of Planning & Development for the Town of Thompson, via email only: planner@thompsonct.org. The deadline for queries is Thursday, 29August 2024 at 4 p.m. The Town of Thompson reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to negotiate with any qualified source, or to cancel in part or in its entirety this Invitation to Bid. This invitation does not commit the Town of Thompson to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a bid, or to procure or contract for services or supplies.
