Renovation of an educational facility in Thompson, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Town of Thompson is accepting proposals from qualified individuals or firms to provide a complete new roof for the 1909 Building, including a study, overall design, and construction services cost estimate for Thompson Public Schools. Interested parties should obtain the complete RFP and related information from the Board of Education or Town's website. Proposals must be submitted to the Superintendent of Schools at Thompson Public Schools by the specified deadline. Minority/Women/Disadvantaged Business Enterprises are encouraged to bid. The scope of the study and design effort will include evaluating appropriate roofing system options and identifying all ancillary work required to support the installation. This may include, but is not limited to: o Structural and architectural assessments o Insulation upgrades o Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) coordination related to existing rooftop equipment o Evaluation of existing drainage and gutter systems, including investigation and recommendations This project may seek funding through the State of Connecticut (including potential grant programs), the Town's Capital Planning Committee, or a combination of both. The final deliverable will be a recommended roofing system and associated cost estimates suitable for presentation and approval by the appropriate Town boards. The selected firm will be expected to provide all necessary services through construction, occupancy, and project closeout. Although unlikely, the Town reserves the right to contract with more than one design firm for these services. The Town of Thompson intends to contract with one or more qualified design professionals to provide a complete study, design, and project management services for the 1909 Building Roofing Replacement Project for the Public Schools. The scope includes a comprehensive assessment for the removal of the existing roofing system and installation of a new roofing system across three roof areas (one large and two smaller sections). The design and study effort shall include, but not be limited to: o Evaluation of Existing Conditions: o Conduct thorough reviews of the current roofing systems and all related building components. o Roofing System Options: o Assess and compare appropriate roofing system replacements, including cost, performance, durability, efficiency, maintainability, and overall applicability to the facility. o Ancillary Work Requirements: o Identify and evaluate all supporting scope needs, which may include: Structural and architectural assessments Insulation upgrades Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) coordination associated with existing rooftop equipment Investigation and recommendations related to the existing drainage and gutter systems o Cost Estimates: o Provide detailed cost estimates for all recommended roofing systems and associated ancillary work. o Project Delivery & Scheduling: o Develop project delivery recommendations and preliminary schedule information that aligns with the Town's Planning review and approval process. Upon acceptance by the Town, final design documentation and construction activities will proceed in accordance with agreed-upon schedules.
