The Municipality of Anchorage (MOA), Public Transportation Department (PTD) seeks to improve a diverse, low-income, minority-populated neighborhood located in Northeast Anchorage with a mixed-use transit-oriented development. Through this project, PTD seeks to locate and design Anchorage's first transit-oriented development (TOD), which is visible and central to the Muldoon neighborhood. A TOD that pulls together people from across the community and establishes a true "town center" that complements the new commercial, residential, and park developments in the area. This project aims to provide the planning, design, and preliminary engineering needed to develop a summary of feasible alternatives to relocate the existing collection of bus stops known as the Muldoon Transit Hub to an off-street location (as one facility) to improve safety for pedestrians, to accommodate passenger transfer and travel needs, maintain efficient transit operations, and provide operator conveniences. Final Site Selection and Concept Plan Draft a final report compiling all of the above items, identifying a preferred alternative, and setting the schedule for the next project implementation steps. o Incorporate all public involvement activities into an appendix.
