The County reserves the right to make changes or revisions to the scope of work as required during the term of the contract if it determines it to be necessary or desirable. No changes, revisions, modifications, or amendments of any of the terms or conditions of the contract specifications and requirements shall be valid unless reduced to writing by the County. Verbal discussions or agreements shall not bind the County. San Juan County Fire and Rescue is seeking proposals from qualified contractors specializing in NFPA and ISO standards to provide fire hydrant maintenance, flow testing, and hose testing services. The selected Contractor will be responsible for servicing approximately 1,500 fire hydrants and 100,000 feet of fire hoses across San Juan County. Inspections shall be performed in Aztec, Bloomfield, Farmington, Kirtland and Unincorporated areas of the County. San Juan County Fire and Rescue consists of 11 fire districts. The list of county fire stations is listed on page 8. Inspections of fire hoses should be completed at the location of the fire station, or otherwise instructed by the County Fire Chief or authorized personnel. The County Fire and Rescue department reserves the right to add or remove building locations at their discretion. The following section lists key components and features necessary for efficiently achieving the key performance objectives of the inspection and testing required by NFPA and ISO standards. Fire Hydrant Inspection and Testing to include but not limited to: o Inspection and testing of requested fire hydrants o Inspection and lubrication of hydrant parts o Repair or replacement of damaged parts o Full flow and pressure testing o Painting and marking of all fire hydrants o Trimming of grass and other type of vegetation within a four-foot diameter o Contractor shall add color coded markings to distinguish type of hydrants (I.E. Black, Yellow, Red, Blue) Fire Hose Inspection and Testing: o Inspection and testing of all hoses around San Juan County o Labor to unload, test and reload all fire hoses o Timely and organized work performance on each apparatus
