The intent and purpose of this Invitation for bid is to establish a contract with a qualified bidder interested in furnishing and installing approximately 850 linear feet of commercial grade chain link fence with one 12-foot rolling gate, one 8-foot double swing gate, and one 4-foot single swing gate all materials and equipment, construction and services inherent to the Work. Fence is to be installed at a 4-feet offset from the edge of the property around the perimeter of the Reservoir St. Water Tank Fence Enclosure located at 42 Reservoir St. for the City of Methuen in the layout included with the bid documents. The existing fence will be demolished and disposed of with all necessary site clearing completed by the City prior to the Contractor beginning work at the site. No Bid will be considered which is not accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, payable to the "City of Methuen". This bid deposit will become the property of the City if the successful bidder fails to execute the contract. Bidders must submit a five percent (5%) bid deposit with their bid. The bid deposit must be in the form of a bid bond issued by a surety company certified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; a certified treasurer's or cashier's check drawn on a responsible bank or trust company payable to the City of Methuen or cash. Payment & Performance Bond Requirements: The bidder awarded the contract is required to submit a 50% payment bond drawn on a responsible bank or trust company authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and made payable to the City of Methuen. Licenses: The Contractor shall possess a Massachusetts contractor's license and/or license required for this type of work. Licensure from any other state will be subject to approval by the City The City of Methuen reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding if it is deeded to be in the best interest for the City to do so.
