Deadline for Questions May 23rd, 2025, 4:00 pm local time The Owner is creating a prequalified list of three to five suitable professional General Contractors who will be part of a limited RFQ for General Contracting Services for the Fernie Elementary School Project, located at the intersection of Cokato Road and Montane Parkway in the south end of Fernie, BC. The goal of this RFQ is to prequalify suitable General Contractors who meet the mandatory criterial described in Section A of the RFP and demonstrate the experience and expertise to successfully complete a project of this magnitude on time and on budget while representing the needs of the Owner and the general community of Fernie. A new elementary school will accommodate the growing number of elementary students in the city and alleviate enrolment pressure at the other School District owned elementary school in Fernie, Isabella Dicken Elementary. This project will be designed for a capacity of 265 (40K/225E) students in a single storey design, complete with parking, bus loop, fire access, playground, and playfields. The project will include a GHG reduction strategy, reducing operational emissions by approximately 60% compared to a LEED Gold baseline building. The NLC allowance will provide purpose-built space for Indigenous Education associated events such as talking circles for students and the greater community. The NLC allowance will also include a warming kitchen to support community functions and expand the gym.
