The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents for the above stated project. The general items of work to be done hereunder consist of: Rehabilitation of Murrieta Hot Springs Road from Whitewood Road to Margarita Road (approximately 3/4 of a mile in length) includes removal and replacement of pavement failure sections, full width roadway grinding of existing asphalt, placement of asphalt rubber hot mix (ARHM) overlay, detector loop replacement, signing/striping, surveying, miscellaneous concrete removal and replacement, full structural section removal and replacement adjacent to the Warm Springs Creek bridge, and PCC removal and replacement for curb ramps, curb/gutter, spandrel, and cross gutter at the intersection of Weeping Willow Lane and Thoroughbred Lane as shown on the plans, these special provisions/specifications, or as directed by the City Engineer. The Engineer's Estimate for this project is $1,800,000.00. The classification of Contractor's license required in the performance of this Contract is Class A or Class C-12. Each bidder musts can and submit the following documents with its electronic bid prior to the bid date and time listed above: Proposal, Bid Bond at Ten Percent (10%) of the Base Bid, Executed Contract, and the documents listed in the Instructions to Bidders. The bidder can utilize a cashier's check in lieu of a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the base bid. If a cashier's check is used, its hall be delivered to the City Clerk in a sealed envelope at 1 Town Square, Murrieta, CA 92562 prior to the bid date and time listed above. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish labor and material bonds and faithful performance bonds to the City of Murrieta in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to delete portions of the work, or to waive any defect or informality in any bid received. SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work will consist of rehabilitation of Murrieta Hot Springs Road from Whitewood Road to Margarita Road. Additional work includes but is not limited to: removal and replacement of pavement failure sections, grinding of existing asphalt, placement of asphalt rubber hot mix (ARHM) overlay, detector loops, signing/striping, surveying, miscellaneous concrete removal and replacement, full structural section removal and replacement adjacent to the Warm Springs Creek bridge, traffic control, and PCC removal and replacement for curb ramps, curb/gutter, spandrel, and cross gutter at the intersection of Weeping Willow Lane and Thoroughbred Lane as shown on the plans, these special provisions/specifications, or as directed by the City Engineer. All material and equipment shall be delivered by Contractor to the site, or to the City yard if removal and salvage is specified on plans. Contractor shall coordinate with utility companies and allow for construction time for utility relocation by utility agency, at no additional cost to the City. LOCATION OF WORK The project is located on Murrieta Hot Springs Road from Whitewood Road to Margarita Road (approximately 3 by 4 of a mile); and the intersection of Weeping Willow Lane and Thoroughbred Lane (4 curb ramps located at this intersection) TIME OF COMPLETION Contractor shall complete all work in every detail within the time limits specified in the Instructions to Bidders, Section 18, herein.
