Renovation of a parking garage in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
Floor Surfacing and Wall Painting – Mechanics Garage & Electrical Building Location: NJDOT Newark Maintenance Yard, 602 Route 1 & 9 South – Newark, Essex County, NJ CCE: $480,566 Single Bid (lump sum all trades) General Construction (C008) OR General Construction / Alterations & Additions (C009) Bidders must be classified by the Division under N.J.S.A. 52:35-1 et seq and must submit bid security as provided in Instructions to Bidders and General Conditions, Revised December 2015. No bidder may withdraw his bid for 60 calendar days after the opening. The State may reject any and all bids in accordance with applicable law. The Project Manager, Alex Clark, of Ronald A. Sebring Associates, LLC, summarized the scope of the Project. a. The Objective of this Project is to remove the existing flooring coating system throughout the NJDOT Newark Mechanics Garage and resurface the existing concrete floor within repair bay areas and install a new acrylic floor coating system throughout the areas designated on the Drawings. b. Additionally, the existing masonry wall construction is to be prepared and painted at the areas designated on the Drawings. All walls, and items scheduled to be painted/coated, will be painted to their full height. c. Mechanics Garage: 1. Approximately 15,945 square feet of flooring is designated to grind existing concrete floor finish 1/16" +/-. Refer to specifications section 09 97 23. 2. Approximately 2,118 square feet of flooring is designated to have the existing coating removed, and a new urethane floor coating system installed. d. Electrical Building: 1. Approximately 6,520 square feet of flooring is designated to grind existing concrete floor finish 1/16" +/-. Refer to specifications section 09 97 23. e. New door threshold details are also required at specific transitions. f. NJDOT will be removing the existing equipment from the repair bays, tire bay, welding bay, wash bay, and tool storage room prior to the contract work taking place. The Contractor is to coordinate with the NJDOT to allow for the NJDOT to relocate equipment and staff as required to complete the work. g. Existing fixed storage racks / work benches to remain. Contractor to disassemble and reassemble as required to facilitate the floor grinding.
