Site work and paving for a road / highway in Ottawa, Ontario. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Widening of Carp Road between Highway 417 and Hazeldean Road, a length of approximately 2 km. An Environmental Assessment (EA) to complete the widening of this corridor was completed in 2016. This study recommended widening of Carp Road to four lanes (two lanes in each direction) from Highway 417 to Hazeldean Road, with a central two-way left turn lane at intermittent locations and a 3 m Multi-Use Pathway (MUP) on both sides of the corridor between Westbrook Road and Hazeldean Road for pedestrians and cycling. TIMELINE: Design is ongoing & completion is expected summer 2026. Phase 1 (Advanced works at the intersection of Carp Road / Hazeldean Road): Utility relocations to start in fall 2025; Sewer and road construction to begin in 2026, with completion in 2027. Phase 2: (Carp Road widening from Highway 417 to Hazeldean Road): Design completion in 2026; Utility relocations to start in 2026; Sewer and road construction to begin in 2028. A Public Information Centre is planned for November 13, 2025. Project will result in multiple tenders over several years. The first tender is scheduled for spring 2026. *Approved projects funds to date $13.7 million.
