The Ministry of Water, Lands and Resource Stewardship (WLRS) and the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR) are continuing to support flood recovery and mitigation planning in the Sumas Prairie following the November 2021 Atmospheric River event. To coordinate the efforts of this approach among various levels of government, the parties are seeking external support to facilitate and coordinate ongoing flood mitigation planning meetings as a part of the Sumas River Watershed Collaborative Framework and guide the development of a flood mitigation plan through structured decision making.
