Site work for a transportation facility in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
Reference Number - 0000274232 The Work of this Contract, designated U3-17-St. George Station - Storm Pumps Replacement, consists of the supply of labour, equipment, and materials to replace two (2) storm pumps and associated accessories. Both pumps are located at the lower platform level in the Pump Room adjacent to the east end of the platform. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Provide provisions for temporary pump connections, including piping, hose connection fittings, power, starter, Hand-Off-Auto (HOA) and receptacle. Provide temporary pumping provisions during construction until permanent system is functioning. After setting up a complete and functional temporary retaining and pumping system, remove existing pumps, tanks, piping, valves fittings, hangers, accessories controls, and wiring. Verify existing Site/pit conditions, utilities and dimensions, and confirm dimensions for new installations. Verify the condition of the concrete in the sump pit. Dispose of any remaining liquid, effluent, and deposits in the existing sump and tank. Safely dispose of materials in accordance with the requirements of Authorities Having Jurisdiction Perform concrete repairs, removals, and structural Work. Perform cleaning, concrete repairs, and crack injection within the sump pit to allow for acceptable application of specified waterproofing. Provide, test, and commission two submersible pumps, with all associated piping, fittings, accessories, control panels, power, control and SCADA monitoring wiring, and provide associated training. Provide new trap primer at new hub drain. Fabricate and Provide new access ladder for the sump pit. Fabricate and Provide new sump pit covers. Provide core drilling for piping and conduit sleeves. Scan for rebar and conduits prior to drilling anchor bolts or core drilling. Fabricate and Provide lifting and fall protection davits Provide firestopping of penetrations, new and existing, between pump room and rooms at floor above. Replacement of damaged receptacle in pump room. Provide labelling for all new equipment Replace damaged and undermined wall blocks with the new ones. New blocks should have same colour, material, and size and must be installed in a way to be consistent with the existing ones. Existing concrete floor must be repaired in a way to eliminate any tripping hazard. No projections or recessions shall be left on the concrete floor or at the interfaces of concrete floor with floor hatches, embedded items and other objects already installed or to be installed on the floor. Provide interference drawings of the installations, including field measurements of room and existing equipment and obstructions to remain, as well as layout and dimensions of equipment, based on reviewed Shop Drawings. Replace railing at landing of pump room entrance with the new one to TTC and OBC requirements. The following components are to be salvaged to the TTC: Remove and return undamaged existing installed pumps back to TTC's Plant Department, emergency equipment, including piping, motors, controls, and accessories from the pump pit. Any old existing equipment is to be discarded and taken out and disposed by the Contractor following confirmation with the TTC. Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Survey Report: Refer to the Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Survey Report appended to the Contract Documents as Appendix 1 and as indicated in Sections 01 57 19 and 01 59 00, and prepare the Site for safe construction operations prior to engaging in other Work, as required by governing legislation.. Safely remove and dispose of designated substances and hazardous materials as required, in accordance with governing legislation, and the requirements of authorities having jurisdiction. Should concealed or unknown conditions be found to vary from those identified in the Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Survey Report, notify TTC immediately. Work Cars: It is Contractor's responsibility to plan in advance and ask for the work cars with boom in order to deliver the heavy and large items including, but not limited to, the Pumps and Panels. TTC work cars are limited and TTC will not be responsible for cancellations of the booked work cars due to the other priorities which might come up after booking the work cars. Contractor must consider possibility of cancellation of work cars multiple times until work cars are made available and must plan, schedule, and deliver the heavy and large items taking into consideration such possibility to ensure that installation and commissioning and Substantial Completion of the Contract is met.
