The work generally consists of relocation of several pipelines, replacement of two waste steam heat exchangers, and tube replacement in the two aeration turbine exhaust condensers. The estimated cost of construction is $2,000,000. Central San, at its discretion, may add additional construction activities after Award of the Construction Contract. All bidders and subcontractors to bidders must be registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code, subject to limited legal exceptions under California Labor Code Section 1771.1. Bids to receive consideration must be signed by the bona fide prime contractor who proposes to undertake the work and who is properly licensed in accordance with the Contractor's License Law as provided beginning at Section 7000 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California. The license classification(s) required for the work are as follows: "A." The Bidder shall have the required license(s). Each bid submitted (hard copy) must be on the forms furnished within the Project Manual and must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bidder's bond for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate total bid. Pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedures Section 995.311, the District will verify all bonds for this Project are issued and executed by a California admitted surety. The Contractor shall be allowed to substitute securities for any monies withheld to ensure performance under this Contract pursuant to Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code. doc note: Geotechnical reports are not part of the Project Documents. Geotechnical reports are provided for Bidders' information, and Bidders shall assume all risks concerning use of the geotechnical reports in preparing their bids. Hardcopies of the Project Documents and addenda may be obtained or examined at the District's Permit Counter, or by calling Lela Joya at (925) 229-7100. Each complete paper set of Project Documents is available for a non refundable fee of $50. Payment must be made at the time the documents are obtained at the Permit Counter and by 3:30 p.m. Checks (payable to Central Contra Costa Sanitary District), cash, and credit cards are accepted. The District Board of Directors reserves the right to reject any or all bids for the work and waive any non-material irregularities in bids received. The Project includes constructing the Work broadly described below, in accordance with the Contract Documents, with all related appurtenances. Work shown on the Drawings, or indicated in the Specifications, or indicated elsewhere in the Contract Documents is part of the Work, regardless of whether indicated below. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Replacing two (2) waste steam heat exchangers (WSX) in a sequence where one is always in service. 2. Relocating one (1) 6" vacuum pipe, two (2) 1/2 " 2W copper lines, and one (1) 1/2 " 2W steel line. 3. Shutting down and dewatering the 20" 3W pipe and installing a new 20" valve, temporarily relocating 20" 3W pipe to allow for exhaust condenser work, and reinstalling 3W pipe in original location. 4. Replacing the 2,300 tubes in each of the existing two (2) exhaust condensers, coating four (4) tube sheets and four (4) water boxes, and replacing eight (8) gaskets in a sequence where one exhaust condenser shall always remain in service Question Deadline 07/31/2024 Questions received less than ten (10) days prior to the date for opening of the bids may not be answered
