The Scope of Work includes the replacement of several, non-adjacent sections of roof at E. C. Glass High School and the adjacent field house and boiler house buildings. Approximately, 291 squares of existing EPDM roofing over rigid polyiso insulation will be removed. New rigid polyiso insulation and a fully adhered TPO membrane roof will be installed. For the field house and boiler house, a total of approximately 38 squares of existing spray polyurethane roofing will be removed and new rigid polyiso insulation and a fully adhered TPO membrane roof will be installed. Of the 38 squares of spray polyurethane roof, approximately 29 squares have a built up roof base sheet underneath that has tested positive for asbestos on the roof of the boiler house. This base sheet will need to be abated as part of this work. The low slope roofs outlined above have parapets capped with roof coping stones. For roof coping stones on the roofs that are being replaced, the existing sealant at the joints will be removed and new sealant will be installed. In addition to the low slope roof replacement, there are approximately 5 squares of existing flat copper sheet roofing over concrete. These roofs are all small roof canopies at various entries to the building and have soldered seams. The copper sheets will need to be inspected for holes. Any holes up to a 1/4 " in diameter will be patched with solder. The perimeter edge of these copper roofs is installed with sealant. The existing sealant will be removed and new sealant will be installed.
