Project Description This project involves the replacement of two fire mains and fire protection piping serving the Anthony J. Celebrezze Federal Building in Cleveland, OH. The scope is to replace underground fire mains from the connection at the street into the building, including two underground utility vaults, two fire department connections, and associated low pressure 8" fire protection piping interior to the building. Interior piping runs along the length of the parking garage beneath the building. The existing 6" service mains will be replaced with 8" piping. Two tamper switches with fire alarm addressable modules will be installed. The project will involve excavating portions of the street, curb, and sidewalk, and fixing to match the previous condition. It will also involve the remediation of lead-based paint and asbestos-containing gaskets. The city water permit has been approved and the contractor will need to coordinate a sidewalk and road closure permit. The construction cost is estimated to be between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The performance period is 60 days from on-site notice to proceed to substantial completion. The NAICS code is 236220 with a small business standard of $45 million.
