VGN Resources Group Inc. (VGN) will be the Program Administrator for projects under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food's (Ministry) extension programming for environment and climate change. This RFP and project is administered by VGN on behalf of the Ministry. This opportunity is in support of the Ministry's Regional Extension Program - which aims to help producers adopt beneficial management practices (BMPs) that make their operations more climate resilient, sustainable, and economically viable. Through regional extension projects delivered by the ministry, the Regional Extension Program will: Develop and share knowledge to support producers with BMP adoption, support on-farm climate adaptation and greenhouse gas emission reduction, and foster collaboration and networking. Public engagement across the Kootenay Boundary in 2023 highlighted interest in preserving and building soil health and key aspects of extension project delivery (ie. financial breakdowns of BMP adoption, ongoing knowledge transfer to help farms see an idea through to implementation, support for farmers to measure and track progress in the region).
