Through this Request for Proposal (RFP) the Department of Public Safety (hereinafter the "State") is seeking to establish contracts with one or more companies that can provide Compressor and SCBA Maintenance. The Vermont Fire Academy is in need general maintenance and service of its Scott (3M) breathing air compressors and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus located at the Vermont Fire Academy campuses in Pittsford and Randolph Vermont. Service shall include all forms of maintenance, repair, inspection, and testing; both scheduled and unscheduled. Maintenance, service, inspection, and testing shall occur on campus unless otherwise noted or agreed upon by the Vermont Fire Academy and contractor. The goal of this contract is to ensure continuity of operation of Vermont Fire Academy compressors, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, and applicable Scott (3M) accessories to allow the Vermont Fire Academy the ability to complete its mission of providing fire service training to the Vermont fire service. The State may award contracts for self-contained breathing apparatus inspection and service, breathing air compressor inspection and service, or both. If the services are separated, more than one contractor may be awarded. Contracts arising from this RFP will be for a period of two years with an option to renew for up to two additional twelve-month periods.
