Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Claremont, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

Phase I - Base Construction - (Gravel pad 174" x 124') - Install erosion control in accordance with NH DES best management practices. Contractor to excavate to a depth approx. 9' below grade to remove approximately 2200 cubic yards of reinforced concrete and masonry from former concrete pool, foundations, and masonry buildings. All debris to be disposed of at a permitted location or (if suitable) processed on site to a 6" Maximum particle size and reused as backfill of excavated area. Backfill and compact excavated area to sub base elevation with additional granular backfill meeting NH DOT specifications section 209 2.1.4. Compact backfill to 95% standard proctor. Compaction testing is required. (4) test per 12" backfill lift minimum, Supply and install approximately 300 linear feet of 30" deep perimeter drainage with 4" SDR 35 perforated pipe, 12" depth clean crushed stone and filter fabric. Phase II - Court Construction - a. Fine grade and compact newly installed crushed gravel. b. Supply and install approx. 692 linear ft of 10-foot high ss-40 full black vinyl chain-link fencing with new heavy-duty 1 3/4" x 8-gauge.105 core BLACK vinyl chain-link wire. This includes the linear footage of the divider fencing between the tennis courts & pickleball courts. Supply and install approximately 53 linear ft of 6' high ss-40 full black vinyl chain-link fencing with new heavy-duty 1 3/4" x 8-gauge. 105 core BLACK vinyl chain-link wire to act as a divider between the pickleball courts. Fence to have 3 gates. c. Supply and install 2 new sets of Douglas Premier XS tennis net posts, 4 new sets of Douglas Premier XS pickleball net posts, 2 new Tennis Nets with center straps and 2 new center anchors, and 4 new Pickleball nets. d. Pave area 170 x 120' area in two lifts, a total of 3" of asphalt. e. Total area of 2 Tennis Courts and 4 Pickleball Courts to receive 2 coats of Sport Master Acrylic Rubberized Resurface. e. Total area of 2 Tennis Courts and 4 Pickleball Courts to receive 2 coats of Sport Master Color Plus textured color coating system. Color to be blue and dark green. f. Apply 2 sets of regulation white textured tennis lines per USTA and 4 sets of white textured pickleball line as per USAPB. Phase III - Final Touches a. 6" wide gravel path to and from the court to the parking lot. 6" crushed bank run gravel. NH DOT 304.3 b. 2 asphalt paved and striped ADA accessible parking spaces. c. Installation of 1" polyethylene water line and water fountain. d. Shade tree planting. Plant 8 shade trees in correspondence to the BETA Group site plan (attached). Trees will be European Horn Beams 10ft tall. e. Bench(s) installation. Install 6 benches to be selected by the City of Claremont. Benches will be purchased by the City of Claremont. f. General landscaping. g. Seeding and general flattening of the landscape around the courts to beautify the area. Install the Musco Lighting System provided by the City of Claremont . (spec sheet attached) The system that is to be purchased by the City will be a Light Structure System from Musco Sports Lighting, LLC. The number of poles to be installed is 3. All supporting documentation from Musco is attached. Bid bond of 10% of bid price is required. Bid must be held for 120 days. Contractor must obtain a 100% performance and payment bond for the full scope of work to be done. It will be required prior to contract execution. Warranty period is for 12 months after completion and acceptance of project. The CITY reserves the right to add or to subtract to portions of this project to meet funding. Pricing for additional work will be as set forth in quantity bid sheet. Proposals must conform to the requirements of this request for proposals. The city reserves the right to waive any irregularity in any proposal, or to reject any or all proposals. Work on the Veterans Park Tennis & Pickleball Courts Project will commence in the Spring of 2025 with phase I. Phases II & III will commence and be completed on or before October 31, 2025. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
