** As of August 12, 2024 this project received no bids. ** It is the intent of the College of Lake County (CLC) to enter into a contract with a contractor to complete the Advanced Technology Center Exterior Signage and Facade Improvements, located at 7735 W. Grand. Ave., Gurnee, IL. Should the bidder require additional information about this bid, please submit questions via email to:bids@clcillinois.edu. Questions are required no later than 12:00 P.M. CST on August 22, 2024. All responses will be posted on the College website by 4:00 P.M. CST on August 23, 2024. A scope review meeting will be held with the lowest most responsive, responsible bidder on September 3, 2024 at 10 a.m. CST. Project Start Date: SEPTEMBER 3, 2024 or as directed by the Owner Project Substantial Completion:DECEMBER 2, 2024 Project Completion: DECMBER 31, 2024 (Including all work and punch list items complete to the satisfaction of the Owner and the Architect.) All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified or Cashier's Check made payable to the College of Lake County for not less than ten percent (10%) of the proposal amount. A performance bond satisfactory to the College, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois, in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the purchase order issued by the College as security for the faithful performance of the College's contract; and A payment bond satisfactory to the College, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois, for the protection of all persons supplying labor and materials to the Contractor or Subcontractors for the performance of work provided for in the contract, in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the purchase order issued by the College. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of (90) ninety days after the closing date without the consent of the College. CONTRACT DESCRIPTION A. Contract Type: Owner-Generated Contractor Agreement. B. Definitions. The following terms are used throughout the Contract Documents. The work will be governed in accord with the definitions. 1. Fabricated: Fabricated pertains to items specifically assembled or made of selected materials or components to meet individual design requirements. 2. Manufactured: Manufactured means standard units, usually mass-produced by an established manufacturer of the respective item. 3. Furnish: To supply, deliver, unload, and inspect for damage. 4. Install: To unpack, assemble, erect, apply, place, finish, cure, protect, clean, start up, and make ready for use. 5. Provide: Provide means furnish and install. 6. Shop fabricated or shop made: Shop-fabricated or shop made refers to items made by a Contractor or Subcontractor in their own Shop. C. Insurance 1. Designated Purchaser: a. Owner shall purchase and maintain Builder's Risk Insurance in accord with the General Conditions. b. The Owner's insurance will be subject to a deductible of $5,000 per occurrence. D. Liquidated Damages: 1. Refer to the General Conditions for liquidated damages included in this contract. 2. The Contractor is solely responsible for substantially completing the Work on or before the scheduled Date of Substantial Completion. 3. The Contractor acknowledges that the Owner will suffer significant financial loss and there will be disruption to the College of Lake County if the Project is not complete on or before the Date of Substantial Completion. 4. To protect the Owner against said loss and disruption, the Contractor shall be liable for and pay to the Owner as stipulated in the General Conditions for delays in Substantial Completion. 5. All such Liquidated Damages may be set-off against monies that may be due to the Contractor. 1.03 DUTIES OF CONTRACT The General Contractor shall provide the names and addresses of each subcontractor for the project with the bid, along with descriptions of the work performed by each. The College reserves the right to reject any subcontractor to be deemed unqualified.
