Renovation of a transportation facility in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the renovation of a 4,800-square-foot, six-story above grade transportation facility.

Work Included: Provide labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the work of this Section, including but not limited to the following 1. Field painting of exposed interior items and surfaces. 2. Field painting of exposed exterior items and surfaces. 3. Surface preparation for painting. The project consists of eight phases within a single contract. The Project includes work related to structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm and architectural elements. The project includes the demolition and total replacement of the mechanical / HVAC systems and select services for the existing Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT). This stand-alone structure comprises approximately 4,800 square feet over six (6) stories. Functions include common horizontal and vertical circulation, personnel break and office space, restrooms, data/communications, electrical and elevator control rooms to support the ATCT Cab at the top of the structure. A water-sourced heat pump (WSHP) will serve as the primary HVAC replacement system. The ATCTs electrical room data / communications rooms, and elevator control room will be served by WSHP units for primary conditioning, and with parallel dedicated ductless split AC systems on at least three (3) floors and the Tower Cab for redundancy. The phases of work are as follows - subject to refinement upon selection of the General Contractor: Phase 1 is the installation of the temporary Contractor Staging Area Phase 2 - 7 includes the demolition of the existing air handling system within the existing exterior equipment pad and the demolition of existing ducting and associated ceiling elements within the existing Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) facilities. Other phases include the floor-by-floor installation of replacement HVAC components within the existing ATCT. Phase 8 is the final phase of work consisting of the removal of temporary construction fencing and restoration of the existing conditions on the landside areas.
