Description: The project involves but is not limited to the complete construction of public improvements for the upgrade and stabilization of the foundation for the Eagle Point lift station belonging to Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District. Individual elements of work will include, but are not limited to: 1. Clearing and grubbing. 2. Rip rap removal and installation 3. Sheet piling installation 4. Turf restoration and erosion control construction. 5. Other miscellaneous work as shown on the plans and specifications. Work on the improvements shall commence upon approval of the contract by the Board of Trustees, and as stated in the Notice to Proceed. Work under the Contract must be substantially complete by November 25, 2024, and complete and ready for final payment in accordance with the contract documents by May 28, 2025. Liquidated damages for work remaining after completion dates are defined in Section 00 52 00. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the Iowa Great Lakes Sanitary District from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two years from and after acceptance of the contract.
