Project Description The Bloom Mansion, a late 19th home transitioned to a historic landmark, requires extensive plaster repair/ replacement on its third & fourth floors as well as water damaged plaster repair on the first and second floors. The third floor has been stripped to lathe for a previous electrical project. This area is currently a combination of new and old lathe with recently replaced electrical outlets. First and second floor repairs are mostly due to water damage, vendor shall determine appropriate repair or replacement. This project will include all necessary plaster work, including plaster coating or veneer sheets, lathe repair or demo, and any necessary woodwork repair. Finished project will be ready for wallpaper, trim installed and doors hung. Scope of Services The Frank G Bloom mansion is located on the 300 block of Main Street in Trinidad Colorado and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1970. The interior walls of the mansion are plaster coated with era significant wallpaper. The entire third floor has been stripped to lathe and would be repaired with plaster coating, up top three coats, or veneer plaster panels (blue board) with finish coat. Due to variations of surfaces, plaster could be up to two inches thick. The first and second floor each have areas that need repair with plaster washers, plaster coating or veneer plaster sheeting. The approximate sq. footage of the entire plaster project is approximately 5000 sq. feet but all sq. footage should be verified during site walk. All wallpaper will be repaired/installed at a later date and is not part of this project. History Colorado is a division of the Colorado Department of Higher Education and a 501(c)3 nonprofit that serves more than 75,000 students and 500,000 people in Colorado each year. It is a 144- year-old institution that operates ten museums and historic sites, a free public research center, the Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, and the History Colorado State Historical Fund (SHF), which is the nation's largest preservation program of its kind. History Colorado's mission is to create a better future for Colorado by inspiring wonder in our past. We serve as the state's memory, preserving and sharing the places, stories, and material culture of Colorado through educational programs, historic preservation grants, collecting, outreach to Colorado communities, the History Colorado Center, and nine other museums and historic attractions statewide. BID SECURITY: A bid security of not less than 5% of the bid price is required when the price is estimated to be $50,000 or more. The security shall be a bond by a surety company, the equivalent in cash, or otherwise supplied in a form You are authorized to hold said Bid Guarantee for a period of not more than thirty (30) days after the opening of the Bids for the work above indicated, unless the undersigned bidder is awarded the Contract, within said period, in which event the Office of the State Architect, may retain said Bid Guarantee, until the undersigned bidder has executed the required Agreement and furnished the required Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance Policy.
