SHS GYM HVAC Replacement Salem City Boe Regan Young England Butera The project consists of, but is not limited to, the phased replacement of two (2) existing air handler units that service the gymnasium. ASSIGNABILITY Any and all contracts awarded by the District to a contractor in connection with work performed on the Salem High School are assignable to the New Jersey School Development Authority. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Department of Property and Management Construction, prior to the date that bids are received. Any bids submitted under the terms of New Jersey Statutes not including a copy of a valid and active Pre-qualified/Classification Certificate and New Jersey Department of Labor Contractor Registration Certificate may be rejected as being non-responsive to bid requirements. In accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:18A-18, this Project is to be constructed as a Single General Construction Bid (DPMC Classification C008) or General Construction/Alterations and Additions (DPMC Classification C009) for all the work, goods, and services required to complete the public building to be included in the single contract. On-site construction shall be second-shift hours as indicated in Section 011000 Summary of the Project Manual and can begin on or about 23 September 2024 and shall be substantially completed on or before 09 May 2025. Bids must be made upon Specification Section 002000, FORM OF BID and shall include a certified check, cashier's check, or by Bid Bond drawn to the order of the SALEM CITY BOARD OF EDUCATION in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid but in no case in excess of $20,000.00. The bid shall also be accompanied by an executed Consent of Surety in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25, agreeing to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the stated principal amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount, and a two-year Maintenance Bond in the amount of ten percent (100%) of the contract amount. Bidders and their Prime Subcontractors must be prequalified by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority (NJSDA).
