As of September 29, 2025, the bidding documents are finalized and construction contract awarded. Construction is expected to start in October 2025 Bidding documents finalized and construction contract awarded. - Removal and replacement of the buildings fascia and soffits. - Fascia board replacements. - Removal and replacement of the building's rear (West) canopy. - Refurbishment of existing historic (East) garage door bollards. - Lighting & electrical modifications for new exterior lighting. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the written notice to proceed and shall be completed by Friday, March 28th, 2025. Liquidated damages in the amount of two hundred-fifty dollars ($250.00) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. All bids shall be made on the form furnished by the City through wdm.ionwave.net and shall be filed on or before the time specified above. Each proposal shall be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a scanned copy of a cashier's or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If a bid bond is submitted it must be on the form provided with the contract documents. A physical copy of the bid security will be required to be submitted to the City Clerk's Office by the apparent low bidder within 48 hours of the bid deadline. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. Additionally, the contractor must provide the City with a guarantee of maintenance of said improvement in the form of surety for a period of one (1) year from the time of acceptance by the City.
