sealed bids from licensed, qualified contractors for construction and related services for HVAC and Indoor Air Quality Upgrades at Bacon Academy School located at 611 Norwich Avenue, Colchester, Connecticut 06415 (the "Project"). Bidders are required to be pre-qualified by the Connecticut DAS as an HVAC contractor. The Work for the Project generally consists of selective demolition, and upgrades and improvements to HVAC systems and equipment and related work, including all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to complete the construction of the Project in accordance with the specifications contained in and the requirements of the Bidding Documents All questions by interested bidders concerning this Invitation to Bid shall be submitted in writing via email to Andrew Barillari, Director of Educational Operations for the Colchester Public Schools at abarillari@colchesterct.org AND ccd to Scott Kraynak, Project Engineer for H. F. Lenz (Consulting Engineer) at skraynak@hflenz.com no later than Monday, May 26, 2025, 10:00 am to be considered. Please see the Bid Specifications/Instructions to Bidders for details regarding bid questions. The foregoing provisions are for illustrative purposes and shall in no way limit the right of the Board to reject any or all Bids, in whole or in part. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount must be submitted with each bid. The selected contractor shall be required to provide performance and labor and material payment bonds each in the amount of the total contract price. This contract will be subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and set-aside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services under the provisions of CGS Section 4a60g (25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Small Businesses and 6.25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Minority-, Women-, and/or Disabled-owned Businesses). The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals.
