Reference Number 0000359592 Job Location 7901 Bailey Cove Road SE, Huntsville, AL 35802 1. Renovations to existing +/- 110,000 Community Center Complex. Work includes upgrades to accessibility, engineering systems, finishes, site work, and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. a. This project is the fourth portion of a multi-part renovation effort for the Sandra Moon Community Complex. The existing facility is the remaining structure of the old vacant Grissom High School. All classroom buildings were demolished in a previous project leaving only the two gymnasiums, the kitchen, cafeteria, an auditorium, and the music rehearsal spaces. Phase 2 completed the sprinkler systems for the remainder of the building, provided a fire alarm system, and fully renovated the music rehearsal spaces. The fully renovated spaces will remain occupied during construction of Phase 4. b. The primary goals of this project are to complete the building renovations for the rest of the facility and bring the building back into service for the owner. These renovations include two small building additions, new building systems, new interior finishes, ADA improvements, roof replacements, and significant site improvements. The existing 1200-seat auditorium is being reduced to a more intimate 611-seat venue with new seating and performance systems. The City of Huntsville will receive sealed bids, priced on a firm fixed price basis (stipulated sum), to provide all necessary equipment, materials, labor, and supervision necessary, as outlined in the Plans, Specifications, and Bid Manual for the construction of the Sandra Moon Community Complex Phase 4. General Requirements - Bidder Prequalification/Preregistration Required - Bid Deposit Required - Contractors License Required - Insurance Required - License Required PREQUALIFICATIONS DUE: 8/29/2024 5:00 PM local time The City of Huntsville reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. BID BOND: A Bid Bond payable to the City of Huntsville, in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000 must accompany the bid response. The bid bond/deposit shall be in the form of a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or an original bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make such bonds in the State of Alabama, payable to the City of Huntsville. PERFORMANCE BOND: For any bid of $20,000 or more, the successful bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall furnish at his expense an acceptable Performance Bond (Surety Bond) to the City of Huntsville, in the amount equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price as awarded (forms are attached in specifications). Bond shall be countersigned by the authorized agent resident in the state and shall attach thereto power of attorney of signing official. LABOR AND MATERIALS BOND: For any bid of $20,000 or more, the successful bidder shall furnish at his expense an acceptable Payment of Labor, Materials, Foodstuffs and Supplies Bond (Surety Bond) to the City of Huntsville, in the amount not less than one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price, with the obligation that the Contractor shall promptly make payment to all persons furnishing him or them with labor, materials, foodstuffs, or supplies for, or in, the prosecution of the work, including the payment of the reasonable attorney's fees incurred by successful claimants or plaintiffs in suits on said bond. The date of neither bond shall be earlier than the date of the contract agreement. Completion- 540 days PID- 23226.1
