The major components of the Work are as follows: (a) renovation of the existing washroom to be a fully accessible washroom to meet current City Accessibility Standards. (b) Asbestos abatement of the space to be performed by others hired by the City of Winnipeg. (c) Asbestos abatement testing of the space to be performed by others hired by the City of Winnipeg. (d) the successful general Contractor to assume Prime Contractor responsibilities for the site throughout the renovation project and asbestos abatement demolition phase by others. (e) The general Contractor to obtain the building permit which will include the asbestos abatement for the site. (f) Drain the sprinkler system servicing the space and protect the sprinkler heads in preparation of the asbestos abatement of the area to be performed by others. (g) To include two (2) portable washrooms to remain on site for the full project duration: one (1) washroom to be fully accessible and one (1) standard washroom. (h) The Asbestos Contractor shall attend the General Contractor’s site safety orientation prior to commencing Work on site. (i) Separate Price 1: Provide (1) 1" solenoid valve on domestic cold-water supply for Washrooms 222 and 222A. Provide (1) 3/4" solenoid valve on domestic mixed water supply for washrooms 222 and 222A. Locate both valves within Rm 223 prior to first lavatory take-off. Extend main mixed water line into Rm 223 as required to install valve. Solenoid valves to operate in on/off fashion (normally open) complete with push button located in Rm 223. Provide sign at push button indicating emergency water shut-off for washrooms. Provide an isolation valve prior to each solenoid valve for maintenance. The funds available for this contract are $325,400.00. The Bidder shall include in their Bid Submission bid security in the form of a digital bid bond, in the amount of at least ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid Price Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
