Site work for a water / sewer project in Amherst, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project will consist of construction of the following work: Replacement of approximately 6,850 linear feet of 3-6 inch diameter piping with 8-inch diameter piping. Removal and replacement of existing water service lateral piping and appurtenances, connecting to the existing water meters and new 8-inch water line. Incidental related work. The Town will award the contract on a lump sum bid basis. Bid Security: Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or an acceptable bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the base bid. MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit bids Bidders must certify that they do not and will not maintain or provide for their employees any facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. Bidders must comply with the Drug-Free Workplace Act and certify that they will provide a drug-free workplace as a precondition to receiving a contract.
