Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Abilene, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Garcia Ballfield Improvements As determined by the City Manager, as delegated by the Abilene City Council pursuant to Resolution 62-2016, the City of Abilene will utilize the "best value" competitive bidding method in determining the award of the contract, as authorized by Chapter 2269, Texas Government Code. In determining the award of the contract, the City of Abilene will consider the following criteria: 1. the price; 2. the offeror's experience and reputation; 3. the quality of the offeror's goods or services; 4. the impact on the ability of the City of Abilene to comply with rules relating to historically underutilized businesses; 5. the offeror's safety record; 6. the offeror's proposed personnel; 7. whether the offeror's financial capability is appropriate to the size and scope of the project; 8. the offeror's past working relationship with the City of Abilene. Project is located at Sears Park Garcia Field at Kirkwood and League Road. Work will consist of the following: 1. Demo old backstop and fencing to the 6" pipe just past the dugouts. All oil field pipe replaced. The 6 in pipes can be left in place that are past the dugouts. The existing bleacher awnings will need to be supported with 4" sq. tubing, anchor plates and anchors prior to demo no less than 18' per span. Concrete ribbon cut to demo backstop posts. 2. Install new backstop to the dugouts. Backstop will have 4" x sch 40 x 25' galvanized pipes 5' embedded in concrete and 9 ga. fence. Install 10' fencing and post from the dugouts to the existing 6" pipes. 3. New split face CMU wall with capstone 32" high will be added to the lower portion of the backstop approximately 160' long. Dugout to dugout. 4. Demo old Dug outs and install new dugouts per drawings. 4' sq. tube post with anchor plates and framing in 2x4 square tubing. All framing painted black. 2x4 square tubing can be used with no spans no greater than 12'. 5. Concrete - widen dugouts to 8' and add a 5' x 41' sidewalk to dugouts entrance to be ADA compliant. 6. Install white 26 ga. PBR panel on dugout awnings with 6 in overhang on lower end. 7. Demo old bull pens and install new fencing and posts. post should be 2 3/8 " sch. 40 x 8' post and 9 ga. fabric. With 8" Concrete ribbon. 8. Garcia Field is irrigated and heads will be flagged before work is started any damage caused by the contractor will be fixed at his expense. 9. Dugout benches will need to be renovated with new supports, the old aluminum benches can be used and bolted onto the new supports. 10. Construction site must be kept clean daily and safety fencing be used where needed. All material and equipment secured to limit vandalism and damage to the Park. 11. Site shall be left clean by the completion date. All debris shall be removed from the construction site before completion. Bid security is not required. Special Note: This project will require a payment bond for any bid over $50,000 and a performance bond if over $100,000. All bids must comply with specifications. All bids must remain open for 60 days after bid opening. The City will award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder who provides the "best value" to the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any formalities and technicalities. All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes, bearing on the outside the name of the Bidder, his address, the name of the project and bid number. Any Bids received after scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be marked "Received Late" and returned to the sender.
