The City plans to mill approximately +/-3,800 square yards of asphalt and use approximately +/-2,000 tons of SM-12.5A asphalt to repave certain streets within the City. All plant mix, contractor's equipment, and method of laying pavement must conform to current VDOT standards. Asphalt should be bid on a per ton basis and milling should be bid on a square yard basis. An estimated start date for the street milling and paving should be included with the sealed bid. The City of Norton in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 US.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
