Renovation of a mixed-use development in Hayward, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

** As of 10/17/2024, The project bid higher than what was anticipated. The engineers estimate for the project was $790k. Any project under the Measure H bond program that exceeds $1m in value is required to comply with the terms of the Project Stabilization Agreement. As the estimate was below $1m this requirement was not included in the bid documents. Based on this the project should be rebid. It is recommended that the District reject all bids received. The project will be rebid. The Project consists of replacing the existing fire alarm system, and existing intercom and clock speaker system. Scope includes demolition of existing systems after new systems are operational, patching and painting as necessary. Contractor shall replace the existing fire alarm system, and existing intercom and clock speaker system. Engineers Estimate $1,200,000 The project is anticipated to start February 3, 2025, and complete on May 30, 2025 - 116 Calendar days. This project will require all off hours work. See the special conditions for specific requirements a bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District, cash, or a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the Hayward Unified School District, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price. This bid security shall be a guarantee that the Bidder shall, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Project. The District's Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful Bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no Bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening. The District shall award the Contract, if it awards it at all, to the lowest responsive responsible Bidder based on the base bid amount only.
