The proposed contract EN25TAH5404 (McKendrick Pass Road and Bridge Construction) requires a contractor to complete installation of 2 (two) 12.192 metre, L75 load rated, bridges, the upgrade/reconstruction of approximately 1880m of Forest Service Road, and the new construction of approximately 400 metres of FSR. Works will originate just off of the Babine Lake Road at 30km (on the road that provides access to the Little Joe Trail head), located North of Smithers, BC. The contractor will require the services of a Professional of Record for the installation of the 2 bridges. The 2 bridges consist of steels girders with modular timber deck panels on lock blocks, including timber sills and ballast walls, and rip rap. BC Timber Sales will provide the bridge designs and bridge materials, and the contractor is required to pick-up and transport to the worksite most of those materials from the BCTS Houston Storage Yard just off at 7km on the Morice River FSR. BC Timbers Sales will provide loading of the Bridge Materials that are at their Houston Storage Yard. Rip Rap for each bridge is located near, or within, the work site; the contractor will be required to load the rip rap, transport it to, and place it at the 2 bridge sites as per their corresponding designs.
