The City of Atchison (City) is seeking proposals from qualified firms (Consultant) to provide professional on-call civil engineering services to support the City's Capital Improvement Program and provide general engineering support for City staff as needed. The City of Atchison (City) is seeking proposals from qualified firms (Consultant) to provide professional on-call civil engineering services to support the City's Capital Improvement Program and provide general engineering support for City staff as needed. Traditionally, these services are provided by the City's engineering division of the Public Works Department with periodic, special engineering contracts to supplement the work of the City Engineer. The City is currently accepting applications for the full-time City Engineer position, and the primary objective of this Request for Proposal is to provide such services while the position is vacant. The City also employs a full-time engineering technician who utilizes AutoCAD and is a KDOT-certified inspector. The City intends to select one or more firms to provide Consultant services for a period of one year from the agreement date. The City will issue a project work order to the Consultant, providing sufficient information for the Consultant to submit a cost proposal and schedule for approval by the City. In general, it is the desire of the City for the Consultant to utilize the City's engineering technician's services in conjunction with its own services.
