Completed plans call for the addition of a 3,587-square-foot, one-story above grade municipal facility; for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a 3,200-square-foot municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
Grunthal Youth Drop-In Centre Inc. is a not for profit, community-based volunteer Board of Directors responsible for the oversight of The DropZone, a youth drop-in centre serving the community of Grunthal. The DropZone is located adjacent to the grounds of Green Valley School (grades 4-12) in Grunthal. The DropZone provides services and programming to all youth in the community, but specifically focuses on at- risk youth. The physical space and programs provide a safe space for youth by meeting them where they are in life. The DropZone provides services and space for lunch hour, after school and some evening sessions. Services are offered to youth aged 14-20. To better serve the needs of youth in the community, Grunthal Youth Drop-In Centre Inc. applied for provincial funding to add a gym and renovate the current space in 2023. The application, made to the Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Fund, was successful. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com .
